The 100 mile cafe has been around Melbourne (city of the rentoid.com global head office) for a bit over 6 months. So we reckon it deserves a mention on this here rentoid blog!

The basic premise is that they source all their ingredients (and business inputs for that matter) from within a 100 mile radius. This has three great benefits:
- Reduced environmental impact of transporting food & beverages.
- Fresher cuisine due to the sourcing proximity raw ingredients.
- The 100 mile radius ultimately benefits local communities & business.
There are a couple of small exceptions like coffee, which can only be grown in hotter climates. Although they still take the closest option which happens to be Byron Bay.
This is the type of thinking we need in business. Asking how we can do things locally and so reduce our eco footprints. Which often results in doing soemthing awesome and unique to boot!

Their moto is: Think globally, eat locally.
We couldn’t agree more…. think globally, rent locally!
